My Dream Stopped, But I Still Dream

Size: 24" x 18"

I always dreamed of becoming a makeup artist. I'll never forget the free and exciting memories of watching my mother apply makeup as a child, then, driven by curiosity, freely doodling on my hands and face. My passion for art actually stemmed from makeup. I fell in love with the magical confidence and allure of applying makeup to my friends' faces, feeling I could transform a person's expression and mood with my fingertips. However, in reality, with countless assignments and exams, I couldn't remain focused on makeup. I remember the day I gave up my dream of becoming a makeup artist after a conflict and compromise with my parents. I tried to portray the atmosphere and appearance of that day, lying in bed, not wanting to eat or sleep, crying. I used the color red to express my passion for makeup, and the background was poppies, flowers used to commemorate the loss of someone. I created this piece with the belief that I would one day return to that dream.
